For Your Consideration
It's finally spring here in the cold white north! It's been a busy week so I plan to spend Saturday cleaning up the yard and garden with C. We can't wait to plant our vegetable and herb garden for this year. In the meantime, here are the things that have caught my eye this week.
I think it's safe to say that C and I have recently become obsessed with seitan. We've loved it as gyros and Philly cheezesteaks. This week I can't wait to try it as schwarma. And some jackfruit tacos al pastor for good measure.
I loved and hated this article about teacher stress. Yes, of course, teachers are stressed. I even did a yoga teacher training last summer as a way for me to gain some of my own coping skills. After years of teaching at this point, I'm starting to feel like the only progress to be made for student and teacher mental health is in addressing issues of the social safety net and poverty.
After moving away from my dermatologist in Atlanta, I got lazy about finding a new one before my prescription to Retin-A ran out. I decided to try a non-prescription option and I'm glad I did. The Honest Pure Retinol Serum has put a dent in my forehead wrinkles and isn't quite as drying as my prescription was.
I just finished The Immortalists. After all of the hype it got last year, I really expected a lot more from it. The first two sections of the book focusing on the younger siblings were interesting enough. The latter two were dull. There's a background theme of magic that I just really didn't enjoy.
Hope you are well and have fun weekend plans!
