Housewife Wednesday: Garden Planting

Even though I work a fulltime job, I always joke with my friends and family that my ideal career is a housewife. I love cooking, cleaning, gardening, and in general taking care of my home. While that might not be in the cards at the moment, I'm lucky enough to have a job that gives me time to pursue hobbies throughout the year and full-time in the summer.

It's finally above freezing in Minnesota so C and I got out in the garden to prep and plant for spring. We got a new composter and have planted cherry and beefsteak tomatoes, jalapenos, peas, and celery. We're planning to can a lot of salsa, marinara with our veggies. We've also started a pollinator garden and some berries along the sides of our house. And, I can't forget our herbs.

Our county has a yard waste center with free compost for residents so it was easy to turn our soil and add more carbon. I can't wait to add eggplant and more tomatoes when it gets warmer.
